Since 2012, Berlin furniture designer Nicole Masseit has been developing unique furniture pieces and objects under the label MÖBELHAUEREI, using materials with a history. In her studio, pieces are created from wood fragments, building components, and found materials that have already lived a previous life—from historic constructions to rescued workshop offcuts.

With a refined sensitivity for material, form, and space, she transforms these existing resources into new, contemporary furniture and accessories. The resulting works move between design, art, and architecture—ranging from small objects to custom furniture and spatial concepts.

Her work demonstrates how the reuse of existing materials can give rise to durable, characterful objects.
